Apartment above the House with the Red Shutters

This charming apartment is located on the second floor of our stone house in the Emilia-Romagna Apennines, a quiet and authentic area surrounded by nature. It’s perfect for a couple, for those seeking peace and relaxation, or for remote workers who want to escape the city. The space is bright and welcoming, with exposed wooden beams and simple yet curated furnishings. It includes: • a double bedroom, • a living room with dining table and lounge area, • a small sitting room with TV and sofa, • a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, oven, and induction hob, • a bathroom with a small vintage-style bathtub. The living room opens onto a balcony overlooking the woods — ideal for candlelight dinners or reading in the sun. Outside, right at the entrance, there is a private outdoor space with chairs and loungers, perfect for relaxing or lighting a small evening fire. The apartment has reliable Wi-Fi, a pellet stove for winter, free parking, and self check-in. A shared laundry area is also available, with extra loungers, a garden cot, and a washing machine. If you’re traveling with friends or family, you can also rent the ground-floor apartment (House with the Red Shutters). The two accommodations are adjacent but fully independent.

• Mobile phone reception may be limited: TIM offers the best 4G coverage in the area.

• A smart TV with internet connection is available.

• The stairs to access the apartment are partly external and quite steep: the accommodation is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

• Pets are welcome, as long as they are well-behaved and accompanied by responsible owners.

• We often provide coffee, tea, oil, or spices, but we cannot guarantee the constant availability of food items.

• Guests have access to deck chairs, a garden lounger, and a washing machine in a shared storage area.

• The area is quiet, safe, and very peaceful, surrounded by nature.

• Local trattorias, a grocery shop, rivers and hiking trails can all be reached within a few minutes by car.

• The Santo Stefano d’Aveto ski slopes are about 20 minutes away.

• The Ligurian Sea is about 90 minutes away by car.

🚍 There is a bus stop (“Casalporino Castello”) nearby, served by Line 2420 (Molino Anzola – Bedonia). Check the updated schedule on the TEP Parma website. 🅿️ A car is recommended to move around and explore the surroundings freely. Free parking is available right in front of the house.

The apartment is located in Casalporino, a tiny hamlet in the municipality of Bedonia, in Emilia-Romagna, nestled in the Parma Apennines. Time seems to slow down here: silence, clean air, nature and peace define the pace of life. This area is part of Italy’s Food Valley and Motor Valley, and it’s also close to Liguria, making it an ideal base for discovering traditional villages, hiking in the forest, swimming in rivers or enjoying hearty local food.

About 30 minutes by car you’ll find a crystal-clear river in a magical, hidden spot. The Santo Stefano d’Aveto ski slopes are just 20 minutes away, and the Ligurian Sea is reachable in around 90 minutes. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and surrounded by greenery. Just a few kilometers away, the town of Bedonia offers all necessary services: pharmacy, supermarkets, cafés, restaurants and a weekly market.
